After spending years cultivating a distinctively glittering fusion of glam-rock swagger, 70s-inspired riffs, and pure, unapologetic girl power, Julez and the Rollerz are turning their passions into anthems for a new generation of rock lovers. The Los Angeles–based quartet, Jules (vocals, guitar), Morgyn Payge (bass), Spark (drums), and Shea Carothers (synth), has created a sound that marries the intensity of stadium rock with the intimacy of a tight-knit sisterhood.
“We truly have a great current group of talented babes right now, it’s such a blessing to be honest,” Jules says. Morgyn agrees: “The sisterhood and the talent in this band is unmatched. We’re bandmates but also best friends. I thank my lucky stars every day.”
The formation of the band was a series of fortuitous connections. Jules met Shea in 2021 through a mutual friend, while Morgyn joined in 2022 after subbing on bass. Spark was introduced via another connection, jamming with the band during tour prep before officially joining by the end of the tour. Those initial bonds laid the groundwork for a musical and personal connection that’s palpable onstage.
Julez and the Rollerz have shared stages with The Velveteers, Girltones, SWMRS, Chokecherry, The Knee Hi’s, The McCharmlys and more, as well as solo DJ sets by Bratmobile and The Postal Service. In fall 2024, the band completed a Pacific Northwest tour as direct support for Moonwalker, expanding their reach to new audiences and solidifying their reputation as a must-see live act. Festivals have been a particular highlight, with the band appearing at Freakout Fest Seattle 2024, Psyched Fest SF 2024, Echo Park Rising 2025, and Happy Sundays Festival 2022 & 2025, cementing their place in the modern festival circuit. Their performances have taken them to iconic venues such as The Mission Theater (Portland) and The Echo (Los Angeles), delivering memorable shows to devoted crowds.
Central to their rise is their glam-rock single “Call Me Up,” a song that captures the electric energy of 70s rock while remaining deeply contemporary. Opening with the line, “Dropped a line on Tuesday that was a drag you said that you missed the loving we had, but I still wait desperately for your call,” the track combines driving guitars, infectious hooks, and Jules’ powerful vocals reminiscent of Marc Bolan and Joan Jett. The song has quickly become a fan favorite, embodying the band's knack for storytelling through melody, emotion, and stage-ready energy.
Beyond music, the band emphasizes friendship, creativity, and community. Their live performances thrive on the energy of audiences of all ages, making each show an intimate and exhilarating experience. Critics and fans alike have noticed their impact: Julez and the Rollerz have been featured in FLOOD Magazine, Bandcamp Daily, The Alternative, CREEM, and Punknews.org, and their Jam in the Van session captures the spontaneity and raw energy that defines the Rollerz’ live sound.
For Julez and the Rollerz, the future is expansive. “Work hard and follow your dreams … Don’t be afraid to be different and unapologetically be yourself,” Morgyn advises. “Celebrate all wins, even the smallest ones,” Jules adds. With their music channeling the glamour and grit of rock’s past while blazing a path forward, Julez and the Rollerz are poised to inspire a new generation of rock fans, one electrifying riff, soaring vocal, and unforgettable performance at a time.
